SWOP & HARM REDUCTION
At SWOP Minneapolis, harm reduction is a core part of how we support sex workers. It allows us to respond directly to the conditions created by criminalization, stigma, and lack of access to basic care. We use harm reduction to meet urgent needs and to offer safety, consistency, and respect in a system that often denies all three.

Each week, we distribute free supplies through outreach, in-club visits, and community events. These include Narcan, fentanyl test strips, emergency contraception, condoms, lubricant, pregnancy tests, and safer use materials. Every item we offer reflects what sex workers in our community say they need to stay safer and more supported in their daily lives.

Our harm reduction services are available to sex workers of all genders and working conditions. We do not require personal information or justification. We believe care should be offered without judgment, and we organize our work around trust, dignity, and access.

What else do you offer?

Community Closet
We know Harm Reduction isn't just about Narcan and Test Strips, it's also about show up with the everyday things that help people feel safe, seen and confident. That's why we created the SWOP Community Closet, a free resource for all Sex Workers.
Our closet is stocked with gently used and brand-new items like work gear, lingerie, everyday clothing (we currently have XS-2X), accessories, brand new makeup and self care items.
Everything in our closet is free and everything is given with care.
There are no limits, judgment or requirements. Just a simple message: take what you need and bring what you can.
We believe every sex worker deserves access to clothing and supplies that affirm their identity and support their work without stigma, close or questions. Our closet is one more way we can offer tangible care rooted in trust and autonomy.
*Stop by any of our office hours.

Quarterly Safety Trainings
We believe that safety is not a privilege, it’s a right. Our Quarterly Safety Trainings are designed to meet the real, everyday needs of our community. These trainings go beyond theory, offering hands-on skills and critical knowledge that can be applied immediately.
Each session rotates through vital topics that support our safety, autonomy, and preparedness.
Trainings may include:
-
Know Your Rights Workshops
-
Anti-Abduction and Self-Defense techniques
-
Gun Safety education and information and optional obtaining a license
-
Overdose Reversal training
-
And more
These trainings are free for sex workers and donation based for allies.
We aim to build collective strength, confidence, and response-readiness through every session.

More..
Our Resources Page is a growing hub created for and by our community. We’re continuously adding to it, making sure it reflects what sex workers actually need, not what others assume we do.
Whether you’re browsing for support or just checking out what’s available, everything listed is curated with care and intention.
If you’re in need of something specific and don’t see it listed, use the Request Form to let us know.
If there’s a resource you think should be on our list, feel free to email us, we’re always open to community input.
This page is built to evolve alongside us.
Want to support?
If you are not a sex worker but believe in the mission of SWOP Minneapolis, donating supplies is a meaningful and direct way to support our work. Every item contributed goes straight to the people we serve, with no waste, no delay, and no misdirection.
We accept new, unopened items that reflect what sex workers actually use. This includes harm reduction supplies, personal hygiene products, and makeup or beauty items that support care and comfort in daily life.

We do not accept donations that are expired, incomplete, or given without thought. Our work is grounded in intention, and we ask that those who support us approach giving with that same level of respect. If you have items to donate, you may use our contact form to schedule a pick-up, arrange a drop-off, or coordinate with our open office hours.

Your contribution helps us provide care that is consistent, responsive, and grounded in dignity. This is one way we continue to meet the real needs of our community and build something lasting together.
