Our Mission Statement

SWOP Minneapolis is a local chapter of the largest organization focused on the human rights of people in the sex trade in this country.  The Sex Workers Outreach Project-USA is a national social justice network dedicated to the fundamental human rights of sex workers and their communities, focusing on ending violence and stigma through education and advocacy.

We are a peer based support group that is dedicated to uplifting the most vulnerable members of our community.  Harm reduction is the praxis, and destigmatizing is the goal. Through outreach we support Sex Workers directly with non-judgmental services, mutual aid, and structural support.  Educating the public about the violence and discrimination we face and how they can  ally with our struggle is another important component of our work. International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers was created by SWOP to honor the victims of the Green River Killer and demand safer spaces for Sex Workers.

SWOP MPLS is a peer-based advocacy collective that fights for the human rights of people in the sex trade, abolition, and decriminalization. We focus on harm reduction, abolition, and decriminalization.
